Additional information:
The role of Parish Life at St. Benedict Parish is to connect and foster fellowship in the parish community within parish ministries and beyond our liturgies. Our events provide an opportunity for us to share our lives, thoughts, and concerns, and to help us live and practice our Christian beliefs and principles. Getting to know one another helps us to reach out and spread the word of how rewarding our life in Christ is.
Parish Events - Some of our parish events include: Mardi Gras Celebration, Ash Wednesday Soup and Salad Luncheon, St. Patrick's Day Smorgasbord, St. Joseph's Table, All Souls Day Reception, Election Day Dinner, Thanksgiving Luncheon, and various other receptions and gatherings.
Martha's Servers - Martha’s Servers are so called because Martha, sister of Mary and Lazarus, served Jesus and was a beloved friend to Him. St. Martha is the Patron Saint of servers, cooks, and housewives, and her Feast Day is July 29. At St. Benedict Parish, we strive to provide hospitality to the families in our midst, like Martha did with Jesus. To do so, we hope to build upon our existing teams of volunteers to serve during some of the most difficult and vulnerable times in the lives of our fellow parishioners—following the death of a loved one. Martha’s Servers work in teams and are called on an as-needed basis to help with funeral receptions. We are looking for additional volunteers to donate baked goods or other food items (salads, meats, cheese, pasta, breads, etc.) or to help set up before, serve during, and/or clean up after the receptions.
Parishioners who would like to get involved in Martha's Servers or other Parish Life activities, or who wish bring new ideas to foster parish fellowship are encouraged to contact the parish office at (585) 394-1220 so that you can be put in contact with the ministry leader(s).
