Month of Family Meals: At the Last Supper, Jesus gathered with His apostles, broke bread, and ate with them. This is the most significant example of a meal that we live out every week when we go to Mass. When we come to Mass, we commune with each other and participate in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Savior. This is a life-giving meal. When we eat together as a family, it keeps the bond of love, companionship, and friendship alive.
In a world and society that focuses on being busy, can we focus this month on these two important meals—coming to Mass and receiving our Lord and Savior in the celebration of Eucharist to strengthen our family in faith; and eating together as a family in hopes of strengthening the bond of love and belonging in our families?
