December, 2021 Mask Mandate (Updated January, 2022 and extended through February 10, 2022): Governor Hochul has announced that the mask mandate that went into effect on Monday, December 13, 2021 has recently been extended until February 10, 2022. Masks are required in all public places due to the COVID-19 upsurge and officials will re-assess the situation as the February 1 end date nears. All attending Masses, meetings, or other activities at our parish must wear a mask. We ask that whenever possible, you please bring your own mask to wear on our campuses since we have a very limited supply of masks to distribute. Thank you for helping us to operate within the confines of this law.
It should be noted that an exception to the mandate is allowed for businesses or venues that implement a vaccine requirement for entry and verify an individual is fully vaccinated, such as via the state’s digital Excelsior Pass or the COVID card. However, since this would be difficult for parishes to implement, the Diocese of Rochester provided that the mask mandate would be the most efficient option to follow the law.
