Babies and young children (under the age of seven) are baptized upon their parents’ request. It is expected that at least one of the parents is Roman Catholic and that there is a reasonable presumption that the ongoing faith practices of the family will provide the opportunity for the newly-baptized to grow in faith through attendance at weekly Eucharist, participation in faith formation and service in the community.
Baptisms are celebrated:

To prepare for the baptism of an older child (seven or older) or an adult, the formation process of OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation of Children) or OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is followed.
The Baptismal Preparation Team members act as guides for families as they prepare their child(ren) for baptism. The team members answer any questions the family may have, and may even provide them with additional materials.
Resources and training to assist with planning are available to the prep team members. The team of planners are involved in the ministry on a rotating basis as baptismal requests arise.
